meganfalley:
for the past three years, i have done what i call “a retrospective introspective” -or- a year in review. if you have had a blog for more than a year, or keep a consistent journal, or take a lot of pictures, or ginco baloba, this part is easy. here are the rules:

There is a mountain of sorrow looming in your eyes. High peaks of unscaled misery reaching unbearable heights; I wonder who would ever have the strength & stamina to discover what weeps up there.
Your agony is so piercing. Some days, the melancholy screaming at the top of its lungs fills my ears until there is nothing but crying. A loud, wailing, guttural weeping of pain that you feel so...

butterflies.
i wanna tell you about the butterfly and egyptian religion. i was supposed to tell you long ago but seems like today is the best time. alright. butterflies are a caterpillar’s reincarnation so to speak. just when they think their life is over, they become butterflies.that crystal thing that forms around them is like a prism of sorts, and they break thru it to come alive again. in...

I think I have finally figured out why people drink Four Loko. It’s because they make you drunk and I have edited this so many times in the last minute. I feel like I am floating on fluffy clouds and my face is happy. I got up from watching the Misfits Christmas Special so that I could pee and let…

curate: Who Are LatiNegras? →
“Latinegras are Latinas of obvious black ancestry and undeniable ties to Africa, women whose ancestral mothers were abducted from the rich lands that cradled them to become and bear slaves, endure the lust of their masters, and nurture other women’s children. They are the mothers of generations…

I’m seeing something very remarkable happening…

two examples: 1) my boy’s sisters are 14 years old and they were watching videos yesterday about conspiracies, like the Illuminati and such. they’re...
Puerto Rico
She loved Puerto Rico so much, she made love to him.
Couldn’t get enough, she stayed on that vacation for far too long
It was a childhood infatuation
An innocent fascination with a place she never saw
Met him in a cloud
Of the finest herb that could have been inhaled that night
He saw what he wanted
She was all too enthralled
He smelled like salt and ocean
Sweat and work
Blunts...

For the Leaping Tongues of Fire Women
Something beautiful to stare at from a distance
You think beauty such as this is fragile, delicate, in need of your big hands
Hands to cover, cradle and protect the compromised state you seem to have assumed of me
Beauty like mine is none of these
I am leaping tongue of fire blinding beauty
Astoundingly awe-inspiring with ferocity
You think me weak little womanly thing
To bend me back to...

The past has an influence on who we are today, but there comes a time when you have to decide if that shit is going to define you for the rest of your life. Things were the way they were; they are no longer that way…are you going to learn from the experience or blame the past for why you can’t progress as a person in the present? Reflect, forgive, let go…move the fuck on
